How motivated are you?

Actions to improve your self motivation:

  • Reflect on your achievements so far, however small, write them down and remember the sense of achievement you felt.You must have a clear vision of what you want to achieve because if you don’t know where you are going, how will you know how to get there?

  • Evaluate your strengths, if you are not sure, ask those closest to you what they would consider your strengths (colleagues, employers, friends)

  • Set yourself SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time based)Mimic other successful people who have achieved similar goals.

  • Read autobiographies, go to networking or motivational events, self help guides.

  • Start to write a journal of your thoughts every day. Doing so will help you to turn any negative thoughts you may have into positive thoughts. If you do this everyday it will soon become a habit and you will be surprised at how quickly you will feel more positive.

  • Practice positive thinking techniques, through reading, audio, motivational quotes etc
